This book would serve as a core textbook for the course on chemical engineering thermodynamics for undergraduate students of chemical engineering and chemical technology. Emphasis is on precise and logical presentation of basic principles. The book covers a number of concepts that are not found in most books, the Jacobian method of deriving thermodynamic relations, use of the Bridgman table, stability and phase transition in thermodynamic systems, etc. Another salient feature of the book is the equation of state (EOS) approach which is gaining importance with the increasing use of computers.
